members of the Wyndham Church assembled at the home of Mr and Mrs C. E. Davey, where a social was tendered Mr Morland. Mr Davey said they had met to say goodbye to Mr Morland, who, after nine months work in the parish, was leaving for Dunedin. Two outstanding characteristics of Mr Morland’s were his human qualities and his optimism. He could assure Mr Morland, he said, that they all regretted his departure from their mi Mr S. Rice, in asking Mr Morland to accept a book from his Wyndham parishioners, said it was pleasing to record the excellent manner in which thenguest had carried out his duties. The parish was a wide and difficult one to work, yet he had visited practically very Anglican home. DENTAL CLINIC The annual meeting of delegates from schools in the Wyndham and District Dental Clinic Association was attended by the following delegates: Messrs P. Campbell (chairman), H. Hunter (secretary), L. Harper, W. F. Bennetto (Wyndham), R. K. Bain (Glenham), D. P. Christie, G. W. Stewart (Menzies Ferry), H. S. Hands (Pine Bush). The balance-sheet showed a credit of £l/4/8. Assets showed a credit of £3l/1/6. Mr Bennetto said he wished to compliment Mr Hunter on the work he had done for the association. It was a great effort to bring the finances from a debit of £3O to a credit basis. Mr Stewart said Menzies Ferry was making a big effort to reduce its arrears. The teacher had secured £6 in one week.

Mr Bennetto said the liability for any arrears fell on the school committees, and he felt a special effort should be made to get all the arrears in. If they were cleared up the levy could be cheapened. The account at the bank was guaranteed by the chairman and secretary up to £3O. The chairman said the scheme was free at the start, but later the department put on a levy of £3O, and this with Hie furnishing of the clinic, ran the . association into debt. It should have been made compulsory to pay

the levy before any service was rendered. . . Mr Hunter said the furnishings m the clinic belonged to the assoe’ation, the different schools giving £2/10/each to procure these. The clinic could not be run under a levy of 3/- a child. At present 243 children were being serviced by the clinic and brought in £36/9/-, while it took £33 a year to run it. , , The levy was fixed at 3/- a child a year. , , Mr Hunter said owners of cars taking children to the clinic from country stations did so at their own risk and were liable for any accidents. The chairman said he and Mr Hunter had been handling the affairs ot the association for some time anaMelt they would like to be relieved of their duties. The affairs of the association were in a sound position, but as both Mr Hunter and he were now out ot touch with School Committee matters, they felt that they could not give the same justice to the work. He suggested that Mr Harper, as chairman ot the Wyndham District High School Committee, was the right man to take Ch said the Wyndham School Committee should be the governing body, as Wyndham was the centre of the clinic.

Mr Harper said it would be impossible for him to take' the chairmanship, but he would discuss the position with his school committee at the next meeting.

The chairman and secretary agreed to carry on in the meantime. Mr Bennetto moved that appreciation of the services to the association of Messrs Campbell and Hunter over a number of years be recorded in the minutes. Mr Harper also spoke. Mr Campbell returned thanks. LODGE MEETING The monthly meeting of Alma Lodge, 1.0.0. F. No. 34, was held in the louge room, and presided over by Bro. R. McLellan, P.G., in the absence of Bro. D.
