DECLINE IN FRUIT EXPORTS

SHIPMENTS FROM N.Z. THIS SEASON (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, June 9. A decline of more than half a million cases in the quantity of fruit exported from the Dominion this season, compared with 1938, was announced by the secretary of the New Zealand Fruit Export Control Board (Mr W. M. Benzies). The total number of cases of fruit shipped from the Dominion this year was 1,051,142 cases, compared with 1.562,672 cases last. year. In all districts in the Dominion there has been a marked decline, except in Canterbury and Otago. Export totals are:
