Thought for the week: Mahia mo ers atu (serve others). The Lone secretary acknowledges a donation of 10/- from country companies. A donation of 1/ ■ which • was forwarded direct is also acknowledged from Waikaia Company. The Lone branch is very grateful for this help. Brownies, do you know these “nursery rhymes”: Ding, dong, bell, Hark to all I tell— Keep the Rules of Health Better far than wealth. Only persevere Each day for a year— Ding, dong, bell, Till you find you’re always well. CLEANLINESS Baa, baa, Brownie, Do you brush your hair? Yes, ma’am, yes ma’am, To let it light and air, To make it smooth and glossy and comb out any dust, Every morn and evening as good Brownies must. FRESH AIR Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, The Guide jumped out of her bed, Each blanket and sheet, On a chair she hung neat, And the mattress she turned foot to head. EXERCISE Tom, Tom, the teasing one, Chased the Guides to make them run But they were wise To his surprise, And cried, “What jolly exercise.” REST Four and twenty Guides sleeping all the night Kept their windows open as is only right, When they rose each morning, each began to sing “The fresh air made me sleep so well, I’m fit for anything.”
