MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING

WEEKLY MEETING OF DEFENCE CLUB

There was a good attendance of members at the weekly shoot of the Invercargill Defence Miniature Rifle Club when the second round of a three-round handicap competition was fired. Scoring was quite good, the best off the rifle being obtained by G. Wilson 79 and A. Pomeroy 79. The handicap badge was won by W. Robertson. The final round of the handicap competition will be fired on Saturday, June 3. Members of the club will fire a match at Mataura on Monday next. The following are the scores, with

POWER SUPPLY CLUB There was a record attendance at the Southland Electric Power Supply Miniature Rifle Club’s shoot this week. The winner of the handicap prize was D. Collie and in the . teams’ match H. Donaldson’s team 697, beat F. S. Webb s team 673.

LADIES’ CLUB SHOOT The Ladies’ Miniature Rifle Club held its weekly shoot last night. There was a good attendance and the shooting was of a high standard for the first of the year. Miss Scandrett won the evening’s trophy, with 73-7-80. Mrs Robertson won the McWilliam badge in a shoot off against Mrs Doake. Mr Murray and Mr Doake scored the possible (80-8) in a practice shoot. Results: Mrs Robertson 78-5; Mrs Doake 78-5; Miss H. Robertson 77-5; Miss Wright 76-2; Mrs W. E. Smith 76-4; Miss E.
