OBITUARY

MRS JANE WALLACE The death occurred at Invercargill recently of Mrs Wallace, a former resident of Mataura and Gore, at the age of 73 years. Mrs Wallace was a daughter of the late Mr and Mrs C. McDonald, early settlers of the Milton district, and with her parents came south by drag when a child. The family took up residence in the Ferndale district. After her marriage, Mrs Wallace lived at Mataura for many years, her husband being employed at the Mataura freezing works. Her husband died 27 years ago. Mrs Wallace remained at Mataura until 12 years ago,, when she moved to Gore. Her main interests in life were her home and family and she also took an interest in the’ activities of the Baptist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs R. A. Mullen, Invercargill, Mrs R. McAlister, Mataura, Mrs A. J. Clearwater, Gore, and Mrs A. D. Paterson, Invercargill.
