Sale of Yearlings

The Tasmanian stud master, Mr E. Tatlow, reports that he has sold all his yearlings by Van Derby, 2min OJsec, and the price averaged £l4O. One has gone as far as New Zealand to F. J. Smith, who has driven Van Derby in his sensational New Zealand miles. The stallion was awarded the. championship stallion prize at the recent Auckland Show, and also got the first award for pacing stallion. In a recent issue of ah Australian journal it was stated that Mr N. Newport had purchased the near relation of Springfield Globe,, winner of the Inter-Dominion Championship at Launceston in January last, but as the colt is Belle Logan’s and not Ayr’s, he is related to Logari Derby.
