DENTAL ASSISTANTS AND TECHNICIANS

AGREEMENT IN AUCKLAND DISPUTE (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 13. Representatives of the employers and employees have reached full agreement in the Auckland dental assistants’ and technicians’ dispute. The new agreement provides that the working hours shall remain at 40 spread over five days and a-half of the week and that the annual holidays shall be increased from one week to a fortnight a year. The basis used in fixing the wages was that of a man with five years’ experience at mechanical dentistry, who is to receive £5 5/- a week, rising to £5 10/- after seven years’ experience. The agreement will come into operation on May 29 and its currency is 12 months.
