RAIL-CAR SERVICE INAUGURATED

NEW PLYMOUTH, April 16. The rail-car service between Tara-

naki .and Wellington was inaugurated this afternoon when the AttorneyGeneral (the Hon. H. G. R. Mason) on behalf of the Minister of Railways (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) attended an official ceremony at New Plymouth station before the despatch of the Aotea on the first of its tri-weekly journeys. The general manager of Railways (Mr G. H. Mackley) was also present.
