Mr Justice O’Regan, of the Arbitration Court, who is a patient in a private hospital in Wellington, is reported to be much improved in health. Mr A. T. Donnelly has been re-elect-ed chairman of the board of directors of the Bank of New Zealand for the ensuing 12 months. Mr John Gilkison, who has been on a business visit to Wellington, returned to Invercargill by the express on Saturday night. Mr A. S. Ronald (Waianiwa) and Mr J. W. Ronald (Thornbury) left Invercargill by the express last evening for Wellington, where they will board the Awatea for Australia.

Lord and Lady Runciman, who have been visiting North Island scenic resorts, arrived in Auckland on Saturday before their departure from the Dominion by the Aorangi tomorrow. Mr J. M. McKay left for Wellington 'by the express last evening. He will represent the Southland section of the Post and Telegraph Officers’ Guild at the annual conference tomorrow. Mr Arthur Terence Maxwell, a director of the Union Bank, is coming to visit New Zealand, via the United States, and is due to arrive at Auckland on May 12 by the Mariposa. He is a son of the late Brigadier-General Sir Arthur Maxwell. Mr Maxwell is accompanied by his wife, who is a daughter of Sir Austen Chamberlain. They plan to leave New Zealand for Australia on June 9. Mr W. H. Cadwallader, who has been in charge of the Labour Department in Palmerston North, has been permanently appointed to the charge of the Dunedin branch of the department. Major B. E. William-Powlett, an English visitor who has been in the Dominion for six weeks’ trout fishing, will leave Wellington by the Awatea cn his homeward voyage. Mr K. D. Anderson, of the Dunedin Technical College, has been appointed assistant master at the Wanganui Technical College, in place of the late Mr G. R. Haldane. Before going to Dunedin, Mr Anderson was on the staff of the Takapuna Grammar School.

The Rev. J. C. McCaw, of the Te Puke Presbyterian Church, has accepted a call to St. David’s Church, Upper Hutt.
