COMPETITION IN WEST OTAGO PUKERAU BEATS TAPANUI The play-off between the Pukerau and Tapanui lawn tennis teams to decide the premiership of the West Otago Tennis Sub-Associatior s competition took place on the 1 i aikoikoi Club s courts. The match resulted in a win for the Pukerau team aftrr a close contest, the scores being: x Pukerau, 9 sets, 90 games; Tapanui, 7 sets. 82 games. Following were the detailed scores, with Pukerau names first:— Men’s Singles.—L. Millar lost to L. Gosden. 5-7; J. Murny beat A. McFeeters, 7-4; N. Sharp’lost to L. Jarrold 2-7; A. Osborn beat J. Harrison, 7-5.' Women’s Singles.—Miss J. McDonald beat Miss E. Thom, 6-2; Mrs L. Potter beat Mrs Watson, 6-3; Mrs L. Millar lost to Miss F. McColl, 5-6; Mrs H. Mclntyre lost to Miss B. McFeeters, 5-6. Men’s Doubles.—Millar and Sharp lost to Gosden and Jarrold, 6-7; Murray and Osborn beat McFeeters and Harrison, 7-2. Women’s Doubles.—Miss .McDonald and Mrs Potter beat Miss Thom and Mrs Watson, 6-2; Mrs Millar and Mrs Mclntyre lost to Misses M. McCol 1 and McFeeters, 2-6. Mixed Doubles.—Millar and Miss McDonald beat Gosden and Miss Thom, 7-6; Sharp and Mrs Potter lost to Jarrold and Mrs Watson, 5-7; Murray and Mrs Millar beat McFeeters and Miss McColl, 7-6; Osborn and Mrs Mclntyre beat Harrison and Miss McFeeters, 7-6.
