DEFENCE LEAGUE BRANCH PUBLIC MEETING TO BE HELD At a meeting of the provisional committee of the Gore branch of the New Zealand Defence League, which was formed at a public meeting addressed by the Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., and Sir Andrew Russell recently, it was decided to circularize all those who had stated their willingness to assist the movement, asking them and others to attend a public meeting to be held on March 27. Those present at the meeting were: Messrs A. T. Newman (convener), G. W. Whittingham, E. F. Selby, E. Eastwood and W. D. Shelton. It was also decided that an executive committee, sub-committees, and officers be appointed to address public meetings in the outlying centres. GOLF Following is the draw of the Gore Ladies’ Golf Club for a four-ball bogey match to be played tomorrow: Miss Kirk, Miss West, Miss Rhodes, Miss Fox; Mrs McLeod, Mrs Stroud, Miss Paterson, Mrs Perry; Mrs Mitchell, Mrs McCreath, Mrs Crosbie, Mrs Martin ; Mrs Brown, Mrs Hunt, Mrs Hamilton, Mrs Olson; Miss Perry a bye. Saturday players: Miss Thomson, Mrs Ross, Miss White, Miss Graham; Miss Kelly, Miss Aitken. Mjss Jopp and Miss McHutcheson.
