SUBSCRIPTION LIST OPENED

MEMORIAL FUND TO MR JOHN MILLER The committee appointed to raise funds for the John Miller Memorial Fund has now opened subscription lists at the Town Hall, Public Library, gas office (Kelvin street) and at the offices of both tlje daily newspapers, so that those citizens who appreciated the many years of public service given by the late Mayor, Mr John Miller, may subscribe to his Memorial Fund. It is intended later when the lists have closed to give contributors an opportunity to meet and decide upon the allocation of rthe amounts subscribed. At present the object of the committee is to raise a substantial sum to perpetuate the memory of Mr Miller, say, by means of a Miller wing at the Centennial Museum which will be erected in Invercargill, being a project in which Mr Miller was so keenly interested. In addition, it is proposed to provide a suitable headstone at his grave and to make recognition to- Mrs Miller for the service she gave during the many years that she was Mayoress of this city. The town clerk (Mr W. F. Sturman) is honorary treasurer to the fund, and the following donations appear on the subscription list at the Town Hall:
