SALES OF CITY PROPERTIES
WAREHOUSE BOUGHT BY NORTHERN FIRM
PREMISES IN NITH STREET An important sale of city property was completed this week when the warehouse building in Nith street a short distance from Tay street previously occupied by J. M. Brown, Ltd., was sold to a northern furnishing firm. The price at which the property changed hands has not been announced, but it is reported that it was substantial. The purchasers are Modern Furniture, Ltd., manufacturing and retail furnishers, who intend immediately to begin alterations to the building, and to open for business within the next few weeks. Extensive alterations are planned to make the building suitable for display purposes and the other requirements of the buyers. The building has been unoccupied for several years. A big brick and concrete building in Yarrow street, at present occupied as a garage, has also been sold. The purpose for which the building is intended to be used by the local buyer has not yet been announced. This building was erected some years ago by Mr George Heads. A satisfactory price is stated to have been secured. Both sales were completed through the agency of Scandrett and Sons, Ltd.
