AIR RAID PRECAUTIONS IN LONDON
“GENERAL PROGRESS NOT UNSATISFACTORY”

The Lord Privy Seal (Sir John Anderson) discussing the air raid precaution organization with representatives of 28 London boroughs, said the general progress was not unsatisfactory. He expected that the results from the national service campaign that he was launching in the next few weeks would solve all problems of personnel) A proposal advanced by the deputation for a central war-time authority for greater London received his approval, he said, but he could not agree to a new statutory authority in peace time.
