WOMEN’S DIVISION

HOKONUI BRANCH There was a big attendance of meinbers at the monthly meeting of the Hokonui branch of the W.D.F.U Mrs H. Anderson presided. Visitors were present also from the Browns branch. Three new members were welcomed to the meeting. It was decided to hold a picnic on January 11 in Mr G. Wadsworth’s paddock, Otapiri Gorge. The president expressed her thanks to the V.A.D. girls for their help in the work. Durnig the afternoon Dr Moana Gow, of Winton, gave an interesting and instructive talk and demonstration on first aid. Competitions resulted: Pikelets, Miss N. Smith 1, Miss D. McLeod 2. Best bloom, Mrs McKissock 1, Miss Gill 2. Mrs H. Anderson accorded a vote of thanks to Dr Gow for her demonstration. The hostesses for the afternoon were Mrs McLeod and Miss Irwin.
