TODAY’S RECIPE

PIKELETS 2 cups (8 ounces') flour. 1 teaspoon salt. 4 teaspoons baking powder. 2 eggs. 1 cup milk. £ cup (4 ounces) sugar. Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl. Beat egg and sugar and add milk. Pour liquid into hole in centre of dry ingredients and stir in ever-widening circles. When free from lumps drop in spoonfuls on to hot greased girdle, turning when golden brown in colour on the bottom. Yields four dozen pikelets, 2 to 2| inches in diameter. SARAH.
