GORE COMMITTEE MEETS At a meeting of the Gore District Committee of the Southland Boys’ and Girls’ Clubs Association held at Gore yesterday it was decided to hold the championship judging of the pet lamb competition at Mataura on December 22. The first judging is to be held on December 9 at Pukerau, Maitland, McNab, Charlton, Mataura, Brydone and Wyndham, and the three placed exhibits at each centre will be eligible for the championship. The secretary reported there were 69 entries for the competition. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Mr J. McMeeken for giving a demonstration on bees at the Otama school”!It was also decided to thank Burrows Brothers for growing plants free of cost for the association’s competitions.

Those present at the meeting were:— Messrs W. G. Mackay (chairman), R. G. Watson, O. McPhail, S. Hargest, W. Thomson, D. Blomfield, S. R. Mac Gibbon, R. Pryde (secretary), and R. K. Robertson (organizer).
