DE VALERA IN NO HURRY
QUESTION OF DECLARING REPUBLICAN STATUS
(Received November 23, 10.5 p.m.)
LONDON, November 22. ■ Asserting that there was no legal obstacle to the immediate declaration of a republic, the Prime Minister of Eire (Mr Eamon de Valera) made a speech against rushing matters until the whole of Ireland was united. Mr de Valera gave notice to the world that the Irish people regarded partition as a problem which must be solved. Until then, he said, AngloIrish relations could not be satisfactory.
