FERRY POST AT HUTT PARK

CARD FOR SPRING MEETING SILVER GUY MAY IMPROVE FURTHER The spring meeting of the Wellington Trotting Club, to be held at Hutt Park today, has drawn first-class fields, and Some of the most promising young pacers in commission are set down to meet. The Hutt Park track, a six furlong grass one, is reported to be in excellent order. The October Handicap is the chief event of the card and a meeting of Ferry Post, Philario, Frisco Boy, and Silver Guy in this race will be keenly followed. Ferry Post and Philario are two of the most promising young stayers in Canterbury at the present time and when they last met in the Methven Cup Philario was returned the winner narrowly. Ferry Post won over two miles at New Brighton and as he now meets Philario on level terms he may beat him this time. Silver Guy is to concede this pair 24 yards and as he has won so convincingly over two miles in recent starts he may be capable of doing so. Frisco Boy represents good class while Toorak is a better stayer than most. This race should provide a first-class contest. The win-and-place system of betting will operate.
