REPORT ON BOMBING OF SPANISH TOWN
INVESTIGATION BY BRITISH COMMISSION (British Official Wireless) (Received October 28, 6.30 p.m.) RUGBY, October 27. The commission for the investigation of air bombardments in Spain has issued a report on the bombing of Figueras. The investigation was made at the invitation of the Barcelona authorities. The commission found on the evidence available that bombs were dropped on the town proper of Figueras, which was an open town except for the location in it of one military objective—an officer cadet training school.
NATIONAL RELIEF FUND FOR CHILDREN SUM OF £2OOO SENT FROM NEW ZEALAND (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 28. On behalf of the committee of the National Relief Fund for Spanish refugee children, £2OOO has been remitted by the trustees to the High Commissioner for New Zealand in London (Mr W. J. Jordan), who will distribute it among reputable organizations giving relief to children in Spain irrespective of any political or religious party to which they may belong.
