ORCADES TO ARRIVE AT AUCKLAND TODAY

BEGINNING OF PROGRAMME OF CRUISE SHIPS (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, October 27. Inaugurating this season’s programme of cruise ships from Australia, the new Orient liner Orcades of 23,456. tons will arrive at Auckland from Brisbane at eight o’clock tomorrow morning. The Orcades, which is on her first visit to New Zealand, will remain in port until midnight on Saturday when she will leave for Wellington. . A total of 836 passengers is carried by the liner, 180 being travellers from London who will land at Auckland or Wellington. A comprehensive programme has been arranged for tourists for visits to inland resorts. A number of the visitors will travel through the North Island and rejoin the Orcades.before she leaves Wellington on Monday for Sydney.
