DRUMMOND BEATS WAIANIWA \ The Waianiwa Badminton team travelled to Drummond to play a return match with the Drummond Club and the match resulted in a win for the home team by 10 sets to two. Results are as follows, with Drummond names mentioned first:— Women’s doubles.—Mrs Townshend and Miss Hallum beat Mrs R. Lindsay and Miss Rodgers 15-6, 15-5; Miss J. Allison and Miss M. Wilson beat Mrs D. Whitelaw and Mrs Steans 15-9, 15-12; Misses J. Lindsay and M. Lindsay beat Mrs G. Lindsay and Miss E. Steans 15-7, 15-9. Men’s doubles.—W. Townshend and and W. Woodhead beat H. Price and T. Cartwright 4-15, 15-14, 15-6; J. Lindsay and I. Kincaid beat I. Robertson, and E. Steans 9-15,15-14,15-8; R. Hallum and D. Blee beat M. Ronald and G. Lindsay 15-7, 15-8. Mixed Doubles.—W. Townshend and Miss Hallum beat H. Price and Mrs R. Lindsay 21-9; W. Woodhead and Mrs Townshend beat T. Cartwright and Miss Rodgers 21-10; J. A. Lindsay and Miss Allison lost to I. Robertson and Mrs G. Lindsay 12-21; J. Kincaid and Miss M. Wilson lost to E. Steans and Mrs Steans 14-21; R. Hallum and I. Lindsay beat M. Ronald and Mrs D. Whitelaw 21-15; M. Lindsay and D. Blee beat G. Lindsay and Miss Steans 21-15.
