Seventeen persons were killed and 20 were injured when a train crashed into a lorry carrying petrol from France to Spain. The explosion set fire to the train and the passengers became panic stricken. s The flames spread to five nearby building and the whole locality was quickly turned into a furnace. Firemen worked throughout the night but were unable to approach where the flames were fiercest.

It is feared that there may be more casualties.
