STEAK AND KIDNEY PIE J pound flaky pastry. 1 pound stewing steak (cut thin). 2 sheep’s kidneys. 1 hard-boiled egg. 1 ounce flour. ' Salt and pepper. 1 teaspoon chopped parsley, 1 medium, onion. Pound flour into meat. Cut into strips. Place a piece of kidney on each strip. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and roll. Place rolls in casserole dish with sliced onion, parsley and sliced egg. Nearly cover with a little stock or water. Cover with pastry. Place in a hot oven (450-500 degress F.) for 15 minutes (until pastry is cooked), and then'lower temperature and cook at 350 degrees F. for'two hours. If the meat is cooked first, allow to cool, cover with pastry and bake in a quick oven for 20 minutes. SARAH.
