FAREWELL SOCIAL GATHERING
LODGE MEMBERS HONOUR MR AND MRS F. PAY
Members of the Bluff Lodge of the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes gathered at the residence of Mr and Mrs F. Pay to bid them farewell before their departure for Invercargill. On behalf of the lodge, the Worthy Primo (Bro. W. Kay) presented them both with a gift and spoke of the esteem in. which they were held by their friends at the port. Several other members added their tributes and Mr and Mrs Pay replied. The function took the form of a musical evening and community singing was conducted by Brothers T. West and A. Giles. Items were given by Brothers F. Belsham, West and Gues. A toast-list was honoured. EUCHRE TOURNAMENT There was an excellent attendance at the weekly euchre tournament, organized to assist the funds of the Bluff Dominican Convent, which was held in the Willard Hall on Saturday night. The first prize for women went to Miss S. Russell and Mrs C. Jackson was second. Mfr B. Vincent won the mens prize and Mr H. Plank took second place. The lucky number prizes were won by Mrs E. Murphy and Mr W. Newman, PERSONAL Mr G. E. Hicks leaves by the Tamatea this morning to spend a holiday at Steward Island. *
