HALF OF SYDNEY IN DARKNESS
FIRE IN CHIEF POWER HOUSE SYDNEY, June 29. Half of the metropolitan area was blacked out last night for a considerable time as a result of a fire in the city’s chief power house, at Bunnerong. Hospital operations were finished by candle or kerosene lights. Five radio stations were silenced and some of the tramway services were affected. Persons listening-in to the cricket Test were greatly inconvenienced.
