SHIPPING DELAYED AT AUCKLAND

STEADY FALL THROUGHOUT DAY (United Press Association) > AUCKLAND, May 19. Accompanying a sharp fall in barometric pressure, steady rain fell in Auckland during the day. Shipping was practically at a standstill on the Auckland waterfront during the day and the departures of the majority of the vessels have been delayed. The motor-ship, Matua, which was to have sailed tonight for the Cook Islands, will now sail tomorrow afternoon. A considerable quantity of inward fruit cargo has yet to be discharged. The overseas steamer City of Mobile, which was to have sailed today, will also be despatched tomorrow. Coastal shipping has been affected.
