BADMINTON CLUB PLAYING NIGHT CHANGED The annual meeting of the Dipton Badminton Club was held in the hall. Mrs Whitaker, vice-president, presided over the following:—Misses G. Caird, E. McDonald, M. Finlayson and Messrs G. P. Martin, R. Watt and R. Colyer. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted:—President, Mrs Whitaker; vice-presidents, Mrs E. E. Stewart and Messrs D. McCurdy, D. Shand, J. N. Colyer, H. T. Shand, W. Mitchell, P. Giles and D. R. Stewart; secretary, Miss E. McDonald (re-elected); committee, Misses G. Caird, M. Finlayson and Messrs G. P. Martin, R. Colyer and R. Watt, It was decided to change the playing night to Monday. It was decided to try to arrange noncompetition matches with Drummond and Winton. > Subscriptions were fixed at 5/- with a charge of 6d a night, and those members wishing to play ladder matches pay 2/6 extra to cover the cost of shuttlecocks. Mr A. D. O’Callaghan was appointed official delegate to the sports carnival meeting and Mr G. Stewart was appointed sole selector. ANGLICAN CHURCH The members of Christ’s Anglican Church are making a special effort to raise funds during the winter and recently started a series of euchre parties. There was a good attendance of players. The prizes were won by Miss W. McCurdy (women’s consolation), Miss Gretta Stewart, Master P. Lake (men’s) and Mr M. Finlayson (consolation). An aggregate prize will be given at the end of six nights’ play.
