QUEENSTOWN

MEETING OF BOROUGH COUNCIL The swearing-in of the new members of the Queenstown Borough Council took place in the library rooms. The Mayor congratulated the old councillors on being returned and welcomed Cr Mclnnes, who was sitting at the table for the first time. Cr Anderson was appointed deputy mayor and the following committees were appointed:— Finance—The Mayor (chairman), and Crs Anderson, Gavin, and Miller. Works.—Crs Schieb (chairman), Miller and Mclnnes. Lighting.—Crs Anderson (chairman), Fix and Gavin. Library—Crs Fix (chairman), Mclnnes and Schieb. Borough representative on fire brigade.—Cr Gavin. Municipal Band. —Crs Anderson and Gavin.
