GENERAL ELECTION

NATIONAL CANDIDATE FOR ROTORUA SEAT (United Press Association) ROTORUA, May 18. Mr H. W. Nixon, at present editor of The Waikato Times, Hamilton, was selected today by a representative meeting of delegates of the National Party to represent that party in the Rotorua electorate at the forthcoming General Election. The only other candidate so far in the field is the sitting Labour member, Mr A. F. Moncur. Mr Nixon has had extensive journalistic experience including editorships of The Christchurch Star and The Lyttelton Times and the financial editorship of The Christchurch Star-Sun.
