TECHNICAL COLLEGE ACCOMMODATION APPLICATION FOR INCREASE PROBABLE An indication that an effort would soon be made to increase the accommodation at (he Southland Technical College was given by Mr J. H. Reed (chairman of the Board of Governors) at the annual dinner of the Southland Technical College Old Students’ Association last night. Mr Reed said he believed that before very long they would see a move to increase the present school buildings. .“Before long,” he added, “we will not have accommodation for the big numbers to come, and I am looking forward to something that will take us along to Forth street and which will make a notable addition to the buildings we occupy today.” He admitted that the primary schools had the first claims, because their material came from those schools, but he felt that in going to the authorities they had every right to consideration because they could indicate beyond a shadow of doubt that what they asked for was well deserved. He was certain that the present Minister of Education (the Hon. P. Fraser) realized from his visit to this city what was required, and he hoped that the time would not be far distant when they could say that something substantial was being done.
