Lespedeza (Korean clover) will be the major crop experiment in the Wellington primary school gardens for the 1938-39 season, and three varieties have arrived at the Wellington Education Board’s office and will be available for spring sowing in school plots. Thirty pounds of each variety of seed has been procured, and this will later be sent to the schools with instructions for sowing. Korean clover is practically unknown in the Dominion. It was introduced into America 13 years ago, and there are now more than 100,900 acres under cultivation in Illinois alone.
