KING TELEVISED AT FOOTBALL

USE OF HIGHLY SENSITIVE CAMERAS LONDON, March 21. The King was televised from Twickenham on Saturday before the start qf the Calcutta Cup Rugby match, in which Scotland beat England by 21 points to 16. His Majesty was seen in close-up walking out on to the field with Engineer-Commodore S. F.. Cooper, secretary of the Rugby Union, who presented the team. The most informal pictures of the King yet televised were produced by the use of the telephoto lens and one of the new super-sensitive cameras used by the 8.8. C. for outside broadcasts, Reception of the match on the home screen was marred, however, by interference which occurred between Twickenham and Alexandra Palace. This caused the picture to jump and contract spasmodically.
