MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB RESULT OF WEEKLY SHOOT At the weekly shoot of the Tuatapere Miniature Rifle Club Mrs D. Clark was again successful in winning the women’s handicap and the womens rifle button. W. Aitken won the men’s rifle button and B. Thomson the men’s handicap button. The results were: B. Brookes, 79; M. Gorton, 79; A. D. McClymont, 79; W. Henderson, 79; W. Aitken, 79; W. D. Rodgers, 78; J. J. Lawson, 78; R G. Smith, 77; Mrs M. Gorton, 77; Mrs D. Clark, 77; B. Thomson, 75; A. Thomson, 74; E. Gorton, 73; S. Walker, 73; Mrs G. Gorton, 72; T. Gaudion, 61. f PERSONAL Mr and Mrs B. Philpot, Invercargill, were recent guests of Mr and Mrs T. Webb, Tuatapere. Mrs H. D. Norman and her daughter, Miss Adeline Norman, spent a few days in Invercargill recently. Mrs A. Alcock, who has been visiting her daughter at Ohai, paid a . short visit to Tuatapere before returning to her home at Mataura. FLAG 500 The fortnightly flag 500 tournament was held in McLeod’s rooms. There were 10 tables, the winners being Messrs H. McLees, A. Laurie and H. Stewart. BASKETBALL The Tuatapere B grade basketball team travelled to Orepuki and beat the Orepuki B team by 10 goals to two. Mr I. Buchanan was the referee. The Tuatapere A team was beaten by Pahia on the latter’s court by 22 goals to 16. Mrs A. Reece was referee.
