WORK OF SPORTS COUNCIL

IMPORTANCE OF DISTRICT COMMITTEES (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 2. The responsibilties of the National Council of Physical Welfare and Recreation and of the district committees to be appointed to work with it were emphasized by the Minister of Internal Affairs (the Hon. W. E. Parry) replying to a sports body deputation. Of equal importance to the work of the national council, the Minister said, would be that of the district committees. He felt that from the material already offering, there would be selected a personnel for each committee, which in co-operation with the council, would very satisfactorily and efficiently carry out the duties entailed.
