ORANGE LODGES

ANNUAL PICNIC AT WAIHOPAI RESERVE The members of the Invercargill Orange lodges held their annual picnic at the Waihopai scenic reserve. The weather was gloriously fine and all enjoyed a pleasant outing. The sports events resulted as follows.—Tiny tots, race: Lois Kelly 1. Girls’ 5 to 8: Avis Aitken 1, Margaret Muir 2. Shoe race: Joy Aitken 1, Sylvia Pulley 2. Single women’s race: Miss G. Bell 1, Miss Aitken 2. Married women’s race: Mrs Muir 1, Mrs Rowe 2. Three-legged race: Dorothy Walker and Sylvia Pulley 1, Ray Murray and Bert Hitch 2, Avis and Jack Aitken 3. Cigarette race: Mrs Muir and Mr Rapley 1. Pick-a-back race: Mr Murray and Mr Rapley 1.
