NAVAL SPOKESMAN FEARS ATTACK ON JAPAN TOKYO, February 24. According to The Asahi Shimbun the aeroplanes which caused 10 deaths and wounded 30 persons at Formosa came from FoochcV and Swatow. The naval spokesman (Rear-Admiral Noda) believes that the Chinese possess aeroplanes capable of attacking Japan, which nevertheless is ready. A message from Hankow states that the Chinese declare that a row of hangars and 40 Japanese aeroplanes were destroyed at Formosa. For the second time within a month a bomb was thrown into the offices of the American-owned newspaper Hwameipao, at Shanghai. Although wounded a Chinese policeman shot the bombthrower dead and arrested an accomplice. Ten employees of the newspaper were injured and the building was extensively damaged.
