KING ZOG’S WEDDING POSTPONED

NO PAPAL DISPENSATION (Received February 24, 8.25 p.m.) VIENNA, February 23. It is learned from Tirana, the capital of Albania, that King Zog’s wedding to Countess Geraldine Apponyi has been postponed until May because of the non-arrival of a papal dispensation. When the family lawyer of the Apponyls, an influential Hungarian family, returned to Budapest from Tirana on February 4 he said that Countess Apponyi must become a Moslem and wear a veil if she wished to marry King Zog. The Vatican refused to sanction a mixed marriage—the Counters is a Roman Catholic —and negotiations with King Zog proceeded.
