AIRWOMAN FOUND AT NEW GUINEA

(Received February 18, 6.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 18.

Amalgamated Wireless (Sydney) received a message from New Guinea stating that Miss Barbara Hitchins was found by an aviator, Mr Jack Todd, 60 miles south-west of Madang. She was unharmed, but her aeroplane was seriously damaged

Advice was recehed from New Guinea on Thursday that Miss Hitchins, a Sydney airwoman, was mising between Karema and Wau, and severa'. aviators, including MiRay Parer, were seaiching. Miss Hitchins flew from Sydney to New Guinea a few weeks igo. She took off from Karema, which Is 2(0 miles north-west of Port Moresby, on Ttesday, since when she had not been reportei.
