INCREASE IN PRICE OF N.Z. TIMBER
BUILDERS URGE REDUCTION OF TARIFFS (United Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, February 17. Concern at the alarming increase in the price of New Zealand timber was expressed at the conference of the New Zealand Federated Builders’ and Contractors’ Association after discussion on a Wellington remit urging the Government to reduce the tariff on redwood and Oregon pine to assist in meeting the position. The remit was carried.
