A SHILLING IN SUGGESTED

FUND FOR WOMEN CRICKETERS

CORRESPONDENT’S IDEA

To The Editor Sir,—l am sure that many lovers of cricket would be prepared to give something to the women’s cricket fund if they felt they did not have to contribute as much as, say, 5/- or 10/-, and I would suggest a “bob” in. This would enable all those interested, including girls and youthful cricketers, to express their appreciation of the selection of two Southland girls in the New Zealand team to go to Australia. There must be hundreds of cricket enthusiasts in Southland who, like me, would be. willing to give a shilling each. The total amount received iq shillings ' would thus bring the sum required within easy reach. I am enclosing my own shilling and four others from friends who support my idea. Yours, etc., PAUL.
