The Hon. F. Jones, PostmasterGeneral, who represented the Government at the centenary banquet held last evening at Riverton, arrived in Invercargill yesterday afternoon. He is staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr Cecil Slocombe, of the subeditorial staff of The Telegraph, Brisbane, arrived in Invercargill by the express last evening. Mr Slocombe was formerly on the literary staff of The Southland Times. Mr Mervyn S. Ayson, of Invercargill, has received word that he has passed his final examination in commercial art, and will receive a diploma. Dr Paul Wood, formerly of Christchurch Public Hospital, who is on the staff of the Post-Graduate. Hospital, Hammersmith, has been appointed an honorary physician in the London Heart Hospital.
