SYDNEY LINER DELAYED

TWO MEMBERS OF CREW ARRIVE TOO LATE (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 24. The departure from Wellington last night of the intercolonial liner Wanganella for Sydney was delayed half an hour by the dereliction of two of her crew, who had apparently been celebrating the festive season well rather than wisely. The ship had actually pulled out into the stream when the men were missed. They were seen on the wharf and the liner again nosed to the wharf, made fast, lowered a Jacob's ladder and sounded her whistle, but the men had again disappeared and, after 20 minutes’ vain honking, the Wanganella finally departed without them. Ten minutes after she had sailed the missing .pail - reported at the HuddartParker Company’s headauarters.
