AGREEMENT EXPECTED TODAY
TRADE DISCUSSIONS WITH AUSTRALIAN DELEGATION (Special to The Times) WELLINGTON, December 22. The trade talks between representatives of the New Zealand Government and the Australian delegation were continued today and will probably continue this evening and tomorrow In an interview the Minister of Customs (the Hon. W. Nash) said that the discussions had been particularly friendly and it was hoped to reach finality by tomorrow. “Between now and tomorrow night,” he said “we have hopes that we will reach an agreement that will be acceptable to New Zealand and Australia and will be a stimulant to New Zealand industry.” Mr Nash added that any agreement reached by the negotiating parties would, of course, be subject to the approval of the two . Governments. The Australian Minister of Trade and Customs (the Hon. T. W. White) who heads the visiting delegation, is to leave Wellington for Christchurch on Friday night. He will return to Wellington about December 29 or 30 and will leave a day or so later for Auckland, from where he will sail for Sydney about January 4 or 6.
