W. H. BOYES, LTD.

GOOD VALUES AND GOOD GIFTS There is no mistaking the Christmas rush at W. H. Boyes, Ltd., Tay street. Regular customers and their friends realize the good values to be obtained at this departmental store. A huge range of acceptable gifts priced to suit all purses is always available and the crowds flock along to see the fine display. This year the variety of goods on offer is probably the best the store has ever made. At every’ counter there is a choice of gifts and for days the shop has been thronged with early shoppers. Handkerchiefs are ever a popular present and W. H. Boyes, Ltd., has this year an exceptionally wide range of quality products. First there are the Tootal products, of which perhaps the best known are Pyramid and Lissue, all selling at popular prices, and packed in most attractive boxes. Then there are the popular Suntan Irish linen handkerchiefs, other Irish linen sorts in choice colourings, and with border initials, and hand-embroidered ones of splendid quality at the cheapest price ever offered—three for 1/-. Handkerchief boxes are priced from 1/11 or 2/6 up, and offer a wide variety for the choice of the discerning gift buyer. In handbags—another present always popular—the shop offers a wide range, and there are some excellent English morocco types at moderate prices to suit everyone. White summer handbags have been handicapped in their sales this year by bad weather, but it is expected that they will be all cleared before Christmas—because of fine weather and the unusually low prices ranging from 3/11 up. The shop has a fine assortment of ladies’ hosiery, in guaranteed makes including a full and splendid range of New Zealand manufacture. Most popular prices are those at 4/11, 5/11, 6/11 up to 9/11. There is a wonderful display at the same counter of children sockettes, of British make, and in all sizes, and all at the one price of 1/- a pair. There is a big selection of gloves, all of selected skins, including fancy gauntlets from 9/11 up. There is an attractive selection of New Zealand made umbrellas—a most useful gift—at prices from 5/11 to 25/-, and an excellent collection of women’s scarves, in triangular pattern, and in gay colourings. Every department of the store con-’ tributes its quota to the total of acceptable gifts, and there is a rush of buyers to take advantage of the bargains offered.
