GOODS STOLEN FROM CITY STORES
WOMAN SENT TO PRISON (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 5. Charges of stealing goods from three different city stores were preferred against Elizabeth Marion McKenzie, aged 55 years, involving a sports coat and a frock from the D.1.C., goods from McKenzies and a pair of silk stockings from Shillings, Ltd. The police stated it was clearly established that she had no need to resort to stealing, and in addition she had £6 14/5 in her possession. The Magistrate imposed a sentence of one month’s imprisonment on one charge and convicted and ordered the woman to come up for sentence on the others if called upon within six months.
