INTER-HOUSE RELAY COMPETITION

The inter-house relay competition organized by the Southland Amateur Athletic Association is receiving enthusiastic support from business firms in Invercargill. Fifteen entries have so far been received for the opening race which is to be held at Rugby Park on Tuesday evening, and it is expected that at least two more teams will be entered by the time entries close at noon today. The teams are of four runners and each man has to run 110 yards. Following are the entries: The Southland Times Co., Ltd., Southland Electric Power Supply, Post and Telegraph Department, Farmers’ Dairy Federation, Southland Farmers’ Cooperative Association, Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., Watts and Grieve, Ltd., Trustee offices, H. and J. Smith, Ltd., A and B teams, Calder Mackay Co., Ltd., Herbert, Haynes and Co., Ltd., G. Poole and Sons Ltd., Sargood Son and Ewen, Ltd., and the Invercargill Cycling Club.
