TENNIS Playing on the Riverton courts on Saturday afternoon the Riverton A grade team gained a decisive victory over Tuatapere by 13 sets to three. Following were the results, Riverton players being mentioned first:— Men’s Singles.—B. Whelan beat Charlton 9-2; J. J. Banks beat Higgins 9-2; A. McKenzie beat Young 9-6; C. W. Carmody lost to Ludke 5-9. Women’s Singles.—Miss A. J. Borland lost to Mrs Walker 6-7; Mrs J. W. Martin beat Miss Laurie 7-5; Miss M. Wilkinson beat Mrs Laurie 7-2; Miss P. I. Bailey beat Miss Payne 7-1. Men’s Doubles.—Whelan and Banks beat Charlton and Higgins 9-1; McKenzie and Carmody beat Young and Ludke 9-3. Women’s Doubles.—Miss Borland and Mrs Martin lost to Mrs Walker and Miss Laurie 5-7; Misses Wilkinson and Bailey beat Mrs Laurie and Miss Payne 7-2. Mixed Doubles.—Banks and Miss Borland beat Charlton and Miss Laurie 7-3; Whelan and Mrs Martin beat Higgins and Mrs Walker 7-4; McKenzie and Miss Bailey beat Young and Mrs Laurie, 7-4; Carmody and Miss Wilkinson beat Ludke and Miss Payn<> 7-3. Riverton 13 sets, 117 games; Tuatapere 3 sets, 61 games.
