CONTROL OF DOGS

A CURFEW SUGGESTED ' (United Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 16. The Hutt County Council received a suggestion from a resident that a dog curfew as applied in England should be adopted in New Zealand. It was suggested that all dogs should be chained or housed at night between sunset and sunrise. All dogs should be kept on the leash when on the street. All owners of females should be made to register them and notify all whelpings and the sale or gift of pups to new owners. All dogs found roaming the streets ought to be impounded and the owners fined. The council thanked the resident for his suggestion.
