JAPANESE IN DUTCH INDIES

FISHING VESSEL FIRED ON (Received October 15, 6.30 p.m.) SINGAPORE, October 14. Two of the crew were injured when the Dutch destroyer Flores fired on tbe Japanese fishing vessel Taishin Maru owned by a Singapore company, in circumstances similar to those on October 2 when the Flores fired on the Japanese fishing boat Tokei Maru. Recently the Dutch East Indies passed legislation for tightening the fishing control, licenses being restricted to Dutch subjects and the licences being withdrawn if it were found the holder was acting .as a dummy for a foreigner.
